Spear Support

I am emailing to say the next Spear programme is around the corner, with Day 1 on Wednesday 8th May. Spear is a youth employment programme which works to bring about long-term employment for those who have barriers which make engaging in work or education significantly more challenging. We have seen time and time again that these barriers do not have to be the final word, which is why we work with young people over a year to help them realise their full potential.

We are proud to say that out of 14 young people who finished the first stage of our support, Spear Foundation, just 3 months ago, 12 are already in work or education! This is a testament to how a shift in mindset, skills and motivation brings about brilliant outcomes. We are excited to see what the rest of the year brings for these and all our young people we continue to work alongside. On average, 82% of those who do Spear in Bristol are still in work or education a year later.

If you are working with a young person who is in need of support into work or education (NEET), between 16-24 years old and available four afternoons a week for six weeks, please send over their name and number to myself, Isabel (Isabel.thompson@spearbristol.co.uk) or Anjola (Anjola.ogundokun@spearbristol.co.uk) ASAP and we will give them a call to follow up.
