Website Wiper and True

Having cemented our position as one of the South West’s most established breweries, Wiper and True is a multi-award winning brewery. In 2024, we were awarded the prestigious Brewery of The Year award, and we can continue to move through an exciting period of growth. Today, Wiper and True has two operational sites, each with differing demands from a facilities and maintenance perspective.

You will join an exciting team whose focus is to maintain and develop the buildings and grounds of one of the most renowned craft breweries in the country. Your role will span across both of our two sites: Wiper and True’s iconic brewery and taproom in Old Market, Bristol, and our characterful Barrel Store venue, in the heart of St. Werburghs. You will also be instrumental in helping develop new sites that will be added to our portfolio over the coming years. This role is not responsible for brewery production equipment and maintenance.

You will report to our Facilities and Sustainability Manager.

You will be responsible for maintaining the best facilities in the South West, by supporting the management, maintenance and health and safety of the sites, to ensure a safe and productive workspace for all. Alongside this you will assist in installation and infrastructure of exciting new projects throughout the business.

Objectives

  • To be responsible for maintaining the smooth running of all facilities with safe, efficient and functioning working sites for all staff and visitors including taproom clientele. This does not include the brewery production equipment maintenance.

  • To assist in and support the smooth running and delivery of new projects, fundamental to the growth of Wiper and True, for example; taproom development and infrastructure upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regular weekly meetings with Facilities and Sustainability Manager

  • Attending regular Health and Safety meetings

  • Conducting regular health and safety checks throughout the site, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire escapes and legionella risk.

  • Supporting our venues teams directly by leading weekly H&S and maintenance meetings with the management teams of both venues

  • Managing maintenance tasks and conducting regular maintenance of the building, fabric repair and maintenance, and booking in specialist contractors when needed.
