Introduction to Green Employment
You are looking for a job and you want to expand your horizon? You are interested in working in a meaningful job and heard about the Green sector?
From putting your hands in the soil, insulating houses, being a surveyor or technician, to working in marketing, the Green sector is wild and growing. Bristol has the vocation to be Net Zero Carbon by 2030 and hundreds of new jobs will be created in the Green sector in the coming months or years.
We are all affected by climate change, but still, the green sector is the second least diverse sector in the UK with only 4.8% of the workforce identifying as a person from a minority ethnic background, compared to the overall average of 12% in other industries.
As we transition to a greener economy, we want to ensure that everyone is included and feels empowered to move and be a part of the sector. One of the ways to do that is by creating opportunities that encourage and expose refugees and migrants to the sector.
If you would like to find out more about the sector and broaden your job search, join us in this 5-week course to learn about climate change and its impacts, the rising need for workers in the green sector as the UK’s infrastructure “goes green” and to gain employability skills to help you succeed in job applications.
We will also discuss the opportunity to link you with organisations, to gain volunteering experiences to add to your CV.
Eligibility criteria: being over 18yo, with a migrant background (whatever your status is), and having at least an Entry 2 level of English (course not translated)
