FareChance is an inspiring, supportive and accessible programme that offers 18–25-year-olds a chance to gain meaningful work experience, learn practical warehouse skills and build self-esteem to embrace their full potential – in work, education, and in daily life. The programme, co-designed by young people, is delivered from our warehouse in Bedminster, South Bristol. It is a busy fully functioning operation which is friendly, warm and welcoming and the perfect environment for FareChance participants to develop, learn and grow.  Young people are enrolled onto a 10-week programme, attending in South Bristol Bedminster three days a week.

Employability programme for 18–25-year-olds, 10-week programme running from April 7 – June 12 2025

FareChance Programme Overview

The FareChance Programme, located at Vale Lane in Bedminster, south Bristol, provides a unique opportunity for young people to gain valuable employability and warehouse skills.

This youth-led initiative runs within FareShare our fully operational food warehouse. The programme is focused on employability and warehouse operations, providing young people with practical skills and confidence for future job opportunities.

Participants are involved in the programme’s design, and day-to-day operations, gaining experience while making a positive social and environmental impact across the southwest!

Referral and Application Process

Eligibility & Referral: The program is designed for young individuals facing barriers to employment, education, or training. 

Please review the “FareChance Referral Criteria” document to assess eligibility.

Spaces Available: Only 8 spaces are open for each cohort, so please ensure potential candidates meet the criteria and are genuinely interested.

Application Deadline: Please fill out our organisation risk assessment/referral form and submit by March 14.

Form Submission: The referral form must be completed by a parent, guardian, or support worker alongside the applicant.

Taster Sessions: Selected candidates will be invited to participate in taster sessions scheduled on Mar 17/18/24/25.
