Sixteen is a specialist social enterprise based in Bristol that supports people with a Learning Disability, Autism or other disadvantage to find employment. We provide the specialist job coaching support for three supported internship programmes in Bristol working with young people aged 16-24, offer community based support for older people and work with individuals of any age who are in work and at risk of losing their job.
Sixteen follows evidence based supported employment processes which are tailored to meet the needs of an individual. This offer includes core modules of:

Working Together Job Seeker’s Guide
Job Seekers are offered a diagnostic meeting where our Job Coaches collect initial baseline information to enable an individual service proposition to be designed and which include an outline of activity and timescale. Information collected at the initial diagnostic meeting(s) enables the Team to design the best approach for supporting the person into work. They will ask about previous employment experience, qualifications get a sense of the persons’ aspirations for work and discuss family support and benefits.
Most people benefit from the core modules as set out above but In addition, other modules are developed to support the individual in their journey to work. This might include travel training or accessing sector specific training such as accessing Food Hygiene or similar.
Once employment has been secured, workplace and task analysis will inform the job coach as they design individual support packages around the new employee as they learn the job and settle in. Sixteen aims to draw down external funding for support once a employment has been secured.
The Job Coach aims to work with the employer and employee until both feels confident after which contact is maintained to sort out any problems that may arise.
