The Community Learning Team is part of the Bristol City Council’s Employment, Skills and Learning team. We set up courses for people with few or no qualifications, and for adults aged 19+ who are unemployed and experience multiple barriers to learning and work.
There are teams in North, South, East and Central Bristol running courses in venues across the city.
Last year we offered over 400 courses in 150 different venues to 2000 residents. Over 60% of learners progressed to further learning, volunteering and work. We work hand in hand with children’s centres, schools and many community and voluntary organisations, as well as statutory providers to engage learners and provide a quality learning experience. We have recently been awarded a good Ofsted rating
