NEW COURSES MARCH 2024 – MARCH 2025
In partnership with Bristol City Council, Weston College and South Gloucestershire Council, and funded by the West of England Combined Authority’s Mayoral Priority Skills Fund, Creative Youth Network is pleased to offer a range of FREE courses for young people aged 16-25 who are NEET or at risk of NEET.
If you work with young people aged 16+ who do not yet have a post-16 destination or who are disengaging from school or college, we can offer 1-2-1 sessions and / or short, small group courses to support them to get back on track and into education, employment or training.
Our highly skilled Youth Workers and Creative Practitioners take a trauma-informed approach and are led by the interests and needs of young people, providing either a series of 1-2-1 coaching sessions or small group courses, working through creativity to empower young people to learn new skills, and grow their confidence to help them take their next steps. These programmes are not only for those interested in the Creative Arts – our team knows how to adapt their practice to suit the individual or group, using Youth Work principles.
The courses will run at different points over the next 12 months, and referrals are open throughout. Eligibility requirements apply – young people must be resident in either Bristol or South Gloucestershire, and either be out of employment, training and education, or at serious risk of disengaging.
I have attached the following documents:
-
- CYN free NEET programmes flyer – with more information for you about what we offer
- NEET Flyer ‘front’ and ‘back’ which you are free to print out and distribute, either as a flyer or as a poster
- NEET Referral form – this is for you or your colleagues to use to refer a young person into our programmes
- 16-25 sign up form – this is the form for young people to use to sign up for the programmes.
As I’m sure you are aware, there is a huge need for these courses in our region, and places are likely to go quickly, so I would encourage you to refer young people as early as possible so that we can help to support their transitions between school, college and the world of work.
The link to our website is here. Please email me if you have any further questions, or would like specific information regarding a young person’s eligibility. I am also happy to talk on Teams or in person if needed. Please share this email with anyone to whom it may be relevant.
