Thursday 16 November 2023, 10:30 am – 12:30 hrs
You are invited to join our next BOPF Challenging Ageism Workshop on Thursday 16 November 2023, 10:30 am – 12:30 hrs. Zoom registration link below.
About the Workshop
The two-hour Zoom workshop is aimed at voluntary sector organisations working with older people, businesses, students, older people themselves, and anyone with an interest in challenging the ageist narrative. We enable participants to explore ways to tackle age discrimination and ageist stereotypes through their own lived/professional experiences. We also look at how ageist beliefs and actions can negatively affect both older and younger people.
The workshop content includes: • Definitions of ageism • Exploring ageist stereotypes • A short quiz • A brief history of ageism • Ageism and the 2010 Equality Act, looking at direct and indirect ageism through a number of scenarios • A Top Ten Guide to Combatting Ageism.
Facilitated by Ian Quaife, BOPF Development Manager.
