As an Apprentice Community Learning Development Worker, you will be working across South Gloucestershire, promoting and encouraging engagement with Community Learning courses. You will make a difference by supporting young people and adults overcome barriers in employment and career development and helping them to achieve a positive outcome.
What will you be doing?
· You’ll be working closely and alongside experienced staff to assist the delivery of learning opportunities within identified areas of need in our communities.
· You’ll learn how to contribute to the local planning of community learning by identifying needs and acting as advocates on behalf of those who have experienced barriers to learning.
· You will assist the Community Learning Development Worker with planning of learning activities by sharing information on community profiles, community learning audits, national and local research and evaluations, examples of good practice, learner and partner case studies.
· You’ll gain experience and exposure of quality assurance in an Ofsted regulated environment.
· You will contributing to the effective management of community learning and the achievement of agreed standards and targets by implementing data gathering, monitoring, reporting and quality procedures.
· You will work with a team to build positive and effective working relationships with a range of partnerships within South Gloucestershire council and the voluntary sector to ensure their participation in the identification, engagement, referral, progression and tracking of learners.
· Throughout your 24 month apprenticeship, we will allocate you a workplace mentor to give you guidance and support in completing your Level 5 in Learning and Development Consultant Business Partner.
Things we need you to know:
All candidates that successfully reach the interview stages will be required to provide a 10 minute presentation as part of the recruitment process.
The salary for this apprenticeship is HAY 9 set at £23,080 per annum.
As part of this training route you do need to undertake a basic skills assessment as part of the selection process. These will be emailed to you by the training provider, Intec Business College and be completed by the deadline set.
As part of your apprenticeship you will complete a Learning and Development Consultant Business Partner level 5 standard.
Throughout your working day you will be often based in community venues throughout south Gloucestershire, you will experience face to face meetings as necessary to discuss the projects that you are working on with people in the team.
The apprenticeship training requires you to attend all online learning.
To successfully complete the apprenticeship, you will be required to complete an end point assessment that consists of Work based project with Professional Discussion, Presentation and Q&A based on Learning Journal.

What we need from you
· You must hold a minimum qualification in GCSE English and Maths at grade C or 4 and above, or be willing to undertake and gain Functional Skills in English and Maths as part of the apprenticeship.
· You will need a minimum of one A ‘Levels in any subject or BTEC equivalent.
· You will have excellent written and oral communication skills to include report writing.
· This post will require you to travel to the community bases within South Gloucestershire therefore, you must have a current valid driving license and/or access to your own vehicle.
· You will be able to prioritise workloads to meet peaks in demand which will involve being flexible and resilient to meet deadlines.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in Child and Adult checks are obtained for this post.
