I’ve attached job descriptions for both job vacancies and included a summary for each below:

 

  1. Facilities and Buildings Maintenance Officer

30 hours per week, 12 months fixed-term contract. Salary £24,500 pro rata.

Working on site with the Estate Manager and Caretakers, you’ll fulfil a support role for 4 days per week to assist with the management and maintenance of the four Grade II* Listed buildings and other structures, such as gates and walls. Your working week will involve a mix of administrative and practical work.

 

Main responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the Estate Manager with contract management and developing scopes of work for maintenance projects
  • General facilities management
  • Assist our Caretakers with cleaning and housekeeping tasks
  • Lead on a CoSHH review across the site
  • Provide general support across all departments

  1. Estate Supervisor

37.5 hours per week, permanent contract. Salary £26,500.

Working with the Estate Manager, the Landscape Volunteering Officer, volunteers and contractors, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the work set out in the Landscape Management Plan. This will include a specific focus on the ongoing extensive removal of ash dieback-affected trees and habitat conservation.

 

Main responsibilities will be to:

  • Line-manage the Landscape Volunteering Officer and Landscape Intern
  • Oversee the safety of and plan seasonal work for our landscape volunteers
  • Carry out tree work and general woodland management
  • Manage large swathes of natural habitat including species rich grassland, semi-improved grassland and scrub
  • Carry out and commission ecological surveys and monitoring
  • Manage the more-formal areas of the grounds and assist our Cemetery Services Manager with cemetery-related activities
  • Help to plan and develop projects and have the skills to carry out small-scale, soft and hard landscape tasks, such as tree and hedge planting, fence construction, step building
  • Diversify our commercial use of felled timber and manage our Woodsure accreditation to sell seasoned firewood
