Vacancy at Action for Conservation – Penpont Learning Coordinator (Wales)

I am reaching out on behalf of Action for Conservation. We are a grassroots charity working to inspire and empower young people from diverse backgrounds, between the ages of 12 and 24, to become the next generation of environmental leaders. We are looking to appoint a Learning Coordinator to join our flagship Penpont Project, the largest intergenerational nature restoration initiative of its kind.

We are keen to promote this opportunity as widely and we would be very grateful if you could help us spread the word to anyone who might be interested in applying. You can help us by:

· forwarding this email / the blurb below to relevant contacts.

· posting about the role on social media or sharing any of AFC’s posts on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

· if possible, sharing the vacancy through your organisation’s newsletter.

We have also put together this Toolkit with some suggested copies and images you can use if you wish to.

The deadline for applications is not too far away (Sunday, 09 July), so any support with getting the news out there in the next couple of weeks would be much appreciated.

About the Penpont Learning Coordinator role

The role offers an exciting and unique opportunity to be part an innovative project in Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) that aims to demonstrate how youth leadership can advance nature’s recovery at a time of acute ecological crisis. It would suit someone with good environmental knowledge, organisational and communication skills and who has prior experience of working with young people and coordinating educational programmes, community events and hands-on environmental activities.

The Penpont Learning Coordinator will work closely with the Penpont Project team, Youth Leadership Group and project partners to co-design and deliver an exciting education programme at Penpont and the surrounding area as well as to engage the local community in activities at Penpont. They will also support our inaugural Youth Rangers Programme and contribute to the project’s health and safety management, evaluation and communications.

Full details about the vacancy and the recruitment process, including how to apply, are available in our Recruitment Pack. The closing date for applications is Sunday, 09 July, at midnight. For this role, we are operating a guaranteed interview scheme for people from ethnically minoritised backgrounds or those living with a disability or a long-term health condition.

Thank you so much in advance! If you’d like any further information at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
