SGS College: Sport training opportunity

Good morning,

I hope you are well.

I am contacting from SGS College, regarding a new and exciting opportunity we have to offer in September 2021.

We are aiming to develop a pathway for unemployed people, which encourages participation in education through sports courses from September 2021 – May 2022 . We want to reach out to 15-30 unemployed people, aged 19 and above.

Our mission is to offer a route into the Sporting Industry via two pathways:

  • Coaching Pathway – for those wanting to coach/teach
  • Fitness Pathway – for those wanting to become personal trainers/gym instructors

What we plan to offer:

We plan to offer 3 courses to the cohort, helping to build vital skills and gain necessary qualifications that can lead to employment in the sport and fitness sector.

Gateway Level 1 in Sport (10-week course September – December)

Gateway Level 2 in Sport (15-week course January – May)

Fitness Instructor Level 2 – this will be embedded within the year.

We have developed a strong partnership with Pure Gym (Abbeywood) and they have agreed to provide a guaranteed interview to any learner who passes their Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification.

Cost:

The course will be delivered to those who participate for free. We will receive government funding for each learner who completes the course. Learners, charities, and probation services will not have to fund anything. Learners will just have to ensure they can get themselves to the WISE Campus.

Please see attached an expression of interest form, which we are asking potential learners to complete for us to contact them to ensure they are appropriate for the course. https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=1v2NW4ONVUegOTJwddtRXInn7IPVYnlNrObRVqiZ4PlUQVpaRkhWTENSV1pDM0FDTjRNNVdWSDZNWC4u

I have attached an infographic with some more information on.

It would be great to hear from you to discuss this programme in more detail if needed, so please do get in touch.

Best regards,

SGS Sport Team
