Hello and happy new year from RNIB,
I am sending an update on the resources we have available to support blind and partially sight jobseekers, employers who wish to recruit or retain employees with sight loss and employment professionals who may be supporting customers with visual impairments. This includes our award winning E-learning!
Online Pre-employment course
We have recently launched an online course for blind and partially sighted jobseekers, this accessible course covers a range of topics relevant to jobseekers. Learners can do the whole course or just choose the topics most relevant to them.
E-learning for employment professionals
Our e-learning for employment professionals is aimed at people in the employability sector who are supporting jobseekers to help inform them of the issues faced by blind and partially sighted jobseekers and what can support them.
E-learning for employers
For employers, we have another e-learning course aimed at raising awareness of the issues faced by blind and partially sighted people in work and the support available. We also have our recently launched Visibly Better Scheme, a set of standards that employers can work towards to make themselves more accessible to Blind and Partially sighted staff and recruits.
Work Based Assessments
Our work based assessment service continues to be popular, offering specialist assessment and recommendations for blind and partially sighted people who are in work and starting a new role, with ongoing support also available.
Please do get in get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss any of these further.
