You will lead the ongoing development and management of Bristol City Council’s apprenticeship programme for staff recruitment, training and career development.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Council focus on process improvement, a higher-skilled workforce and greater diversity through high quality apprenticeships. Our scheme is delivered in partnership with approved training providers and covers 60 different occupational specialisms at Levels 2 to 7.

The Council expects to support 250 new apprenticeship starts each year.

Based in Bristol within our Employment, Skills and Learning Service, you will work with Council departments, locally managed schools and other partners to ensure suitable provision is available, quality assured and aligns with Council values.

Championing apprenticeship opportunities to staff as part of their personal development is central to the role and the successful candidate will actively network with key internal departmental leads and partners plus a stakeholder group which provides scheme scrutiny and oversight.

Do you have experience of developing and managing similar services, as well as building positive, collaborative working arrangements with diverse partners?

You will be responsible for driving project governance, monitoring, and reporting. You will need to build strong and trusting working relationships with a wide range of partners including; training providers, schools & colleges, Universities and West of England Combined Authority.

If you have great interpersonal and communication skills, a sound understanding of the employment and skills landscape or specifically apprenticeships, excellent organisational and planning skills we’d love to hear from you.
