St Peter's Hospice is a local charity that provides care and support to adults who are living with a progressive life-limiting illness in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset area. We have been established for over 40 years with the majority of our support provided in people's homes.

We’ve got quite a few volunteer roles at our St Peter’s Hospice warehouse in Avonmouth. This will be a great opportunity for anyone that is looking to get back into work, gain experience, or fill their days and meet new people.

Warehouse specific roles (18+):

  • Volunteer drivers (Monday): This role involves collecting items for St Peter’s Hospice stores and bringing them to the warehouse. You will need access to your own car that minimum has 4 doors as you will be carrying things. Ideally need to be physically fit. Mileage can be claimed for this role.
  • Repair volunteers: Do you like repairing items and have space to take items home and repair them? We are looking for volunteers to support us with this.
  • Trading Assistant: We need someone a couple of hours a week to assist with scanning books, would need to be computer literate.

House clearance (16+):

Furniture and Home Clearance Support:

  • Would involve moving furniture from people’s homes and going to the tip
  • Need to be physically fit
  • Fully trained on the job – transport is provided
  • Would need to be available from 8am – 4pm; would be good for someone who is looking to get back into work and get used to a routine, and to gain experience and support a local charity
