Following on from the successful launch of FareChance – our new work experience programme – back in December we are now moving into phase 2 of the programme.
So far, we have had 12 young people join the programme, 6 of which have already gone onto positive outcomes in either full time work or further voluntary positions and the others are continuing to gain valuable skills and experiences in the workplace. And now we are opening it up to have even more spaces to support young people into meaningful work experience here at FareShare Southwest!
FareShare Southwest is a food distribution charity based in Bristol that relies on volunteers to take good quality surplus food from the food industry and deliver it to more than 400 charities across the South West. We work with partners across the Southwest and are expanding our services including an employability programme – FareChance – targeted at young people aged 18-24 who are looking for work experience in a fast paced and exciting environment.
The unpaid programme will involve 12 structured weeks of working within our warehouse operation, making a difference to your local community, developing soft skills, being part of a team, support with wellbeing, CV writing, and assistance with applying for that all important next career move.
