Clean Slate Training and Employment

Detailed Information

Clean Slate Training and Employment supports people to manage their money better, find work (and better paid work) and get online. We are based in Bath and have in-person centres and remote support offerings across Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset and Gloucestershire.

We have specialist courses to support people who have found it hard to get into the jobs market or who need support transforming ‘life skills’ into talents that employers will cherish.

Our ‘7 Signs’ programme helps people identify the things that will make employers see what they can offer. In our training workshops or using online tools we’ve designed, jobseekers find confidence as they explore the things they’re good at. They motivate themselves by setting goals that reflect the things they enjoy doing. And they create plans focused on short and long-term job goals that will pay them to do work they will enjoy and do well.

We put our money where our mouth is too. We recruit jobseekers with the right skills and interests as Peer Workers. They help other jobseekers and they’re good at it because they know what it feels like to be out of work. We provide training so they can go onto similar work in the future.

We are currently running our ELE-MENTS training in Bath and North East Somerset. We are looking for Experts with Lived Experience who would like Mentorship towards work in the care, advice and support sector which is currently experiencing a recruitment crisis. The programme offers a 12 week placement, including at least half a day’s paid work at the real living wage with support from Clean Slate and the host employer. After the course, which includes level 2 training, people will be supported to apply for work. If you’d like to find out more, do get in touch.

Our skilled staff can help job seekers in other areas of their life that might be holding them back. We talk about the Three Bs – Banking, Budgeting and Being online – as the solid base from which to grow. We have courses, as well as direct support that can help in these areas.
