Apprenticeship Levy Share – support for small businesses

Share to Support: Apprenticeship Funding Support for Small Businesses Based in the West of England

If you are a small to medium sized business based within the West of England and do not currently pay the Apprenticeship Levy, you could be getting fully funded support to train apprentices, either new or existing staff in your organisation. Through the Share to Support scheme you can access funding support from large employers to cover the cost of your apprentice’s training (excluding wages).

Apprenticeships combine working with studying to gain skills and knowledge in a specific job role. They are a three-way collaboration between the apprentice, their employer, and an provider of apprenticeship training.

With 700-plus apprenticeships now available across a range of sectors, small businesses across the West of England are already using the scheme to both grow and upskill their teams through apprenticeships.

The scheme is open to small businesses based in the West of England and also supports businesses looking to progress their trainees or kickstarts onto an apprenticeship.

Share to Support is part of the Workforce for the Future Programme – an £8m programme co-funded by the West of England Combined Authority and the European Social Fund. The programme works with small and medium-sized businesses to help them develop their future workforce and meet their current and future skills needs.

If you would like to take advantage of the Share to Support fund our team will help your business:

As a growing business, being able to fund our apprentice’s training costs has been a big help. We’re looking forward to accessing more funding support from the scheme in the future.” – Phil Edmonds, Director of Gem Security Ltd
